Disney Grad Nite: A Great Way To Celebrate
Do you enjoy Disney theme parks? Are you a high school senior? If so, you may be able to participate in Disney Grad Nite, one of the most exciting opportunities available to grads.
Disney Grad Nite is available at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks. Thus, whether you are on the East coast or the West coast you can enjoy the exciting opportunity. Grad Nite is only available a few days out of the year, but it is worth planning the trip ahead of time.
With this opportunity, you can get unlimited rides on popular Disney attractions. During the party the park closes to the public, and only seniors who have signed up for the event and their chaperones can attend. This means that you can enjoy short lines to your favorite rides (like Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean), in addition to other events.
The Strange Life Of Poker Legend Stu Ungar
Stu Ungar didn’t have much going for him in most areas of life. In fact, it could very well be argued that he was downright inept in most areas of existence. He also had a self destructive streak that manifest itself in heavy drug use and other behaviors. Ungar, however, had one great gift–he was a prodigy with a deck of cards. He would become one of the first superstars of poker before it became a fixture on ESPN, but wouldn’t live to enjoy the ‘boom’. Ungar would eventually be done in by his baser elements, and would be found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room in November,’88.

Artist profile: Tina Turner
As I watched Tina Turner’s recent appearance on Oprah, I was awed by a few things. She is still one of the most beautiful women in the world, at nearly 70 years old, and I was struck by how elegant and strong she is. She’s a different woman from the girl who first gained prominence in the 1960s. Turner proved that a woman can overcome a number of obstacles with grace and fortitude and maintain a great pair of legs.
I remember the first time I’d heard of Tina Turner. It was 1984, I was about 10 or 11, and I was watching the “What’s Love Got to Do With It” music video with my family. She had this wild hairstyle and was wearing a short skirt that revealed legs that I haven’t been able to attain after years in the gym. During the video, my parents informed me that she wasn’t a new singer; they told me that she’d been around since the 1960s. Of course, my dad commented on how good she looked. Then, my parents talked about the physical abuse she received from her ex-husband, Ike Turner. Years later, while watching a documentary, I saw an old picture of her with a black eye, probably as a result of a beating.

Music History : Musical memories: The Beatles
These things are always subjective, but people are wrong to say modern rock and pop music can’t cut it. There’s still good music being made, but still no group comes close to matching The Beatles.
Firstly, The Beatles made music which will surely last as long as the popular song itself. Secondly, like Elvis Presley, The Beatles made a cultural impact which transcended their music. Finally, they were great entertainers – and their comic turns in the movies ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ and ‘Help!’ shouldn’t be underestimated. Even in a golden decade of creativity like the 1960s, which was often described as a second renaissance, The Beatles are remembered by most as the main creative force of that decade. Everything seemed to revolve around them, and bounce off them.

Music : Biography: Dolly Parton
Any trip to eastern Tennessee is not complete without a study of its most famous resident: Dolly Parton. After all, who knows the area better than its biggest fan? Dolly sings about Tennessee, helps Tennessee and embodies Tennessee—so check out some of her favorite spots and get a real understanding of this special place.
Start your tour in the Great Smoky Mountains. Dolly was born here, in Sevierville, and was raised in a one-room cabin in nearby Locust Ridge. Stop by Pigeon Forge, Tennessee’s Dollywood, where you can walk around a replica of the cabin the Partons shared. There were 14 of them in there!
No town is more proud of Dolly than Sevierville—most of the residents claim to know her personally! Visit Sevier County High to see where Dolly played in the band. Even before she had graduated, she was performing at Knoxville’s WIKV Radio and WBIR-TV stations.

Celebrity : A look at Lady Ga Ga’s rise to fame
Is it just a phenomenon, Lady Gaga’s rise to fame? Or, perhaps, could it be a plan, masterminded years before her arrival here on planet Earth? Is it possible, that built within Gaga’s 5’1″ frame, is an alien technology meant to take over our unsuspecting world, from the youngest of humans to the oldest? Why should I even suspect such a far out plan? Maybe, because, I, a 54-year-old grandmother, is completely gaga over Gaga too! But that’s not what makes me suspect something more diabolical is going on.
Flawless rhythm isn’t expected at the early age of six months, but swaying before me in perfect tune to, Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah…gaga ooh la la, while sitting in his baby walker, glued to a video of Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance,’ is my baby grandson, swaying in a trance like rhythm, released from Lady Gaga’s vice like grip only by her climatic finish. The control of his tiny little body was then returned to it’s formal baby like moves. I wondered, as he repeated her name over and over…”gaga, gaga, gaga,” what is really going on?

How to rehearse effectively with a rock band
Rock musicians are known more for their egos and attitudes than for their work ethic. This can make organized rehearsals nearly impossible. More often than not, rock band rehearsals are nothing more than a few hours of goofing off and horsing around. However, to make it in the music industry, a band needs to embrace dedication and hard work, which means that practice sessions need to taken seriously. Here are a few ways you can bring order back to your rehearsals:
1. Be consistent. Practices and rehearsals should be held at the same time on the same day every week. By making rehearsal time consistent, all of the band members can schedule other things around band practice. When rehearsal time isn’t consistent, however, band members may make other plans, making it nearly impossible to get everyone together at the same time.

Babies: As the latest accessory for the rich and famous
It seems like every tabloid and every gossip channel is screaming with babies and who’s having them. The rich and famous are making headlines with elaborate nursery designs, fancy children’s clothes (some of which cost more than adult clothing), and the newest and most progressive in names for those future starlets and brat pack members. What many of us star gazers are failing to notice is that many of these children are born to unmarried mothers. It begs the question, “Are we teaching our youth that it is COOL to have children out of wedlock?” (as long as we give them a good name and plenty of designer clothes). The media seems to glamorize pregnancy with photos of skinny pregnant divas with a beautiful round bump and trendy clothes to hug the bundle inside. It could make any highly influenced teenager think it looks easy and enjoyable to be pregnant. Next, photos of famous mommies toting their precious infants and toy-wielding toddlers make it look like motherhood is a cakewalk as well. What they fail to portray is the hard work, lack of sleep, and disheveled appearance that most ordinary moms must tolerate from day to day. We do not have stylists, hairdressers, physical trainers for hours at a time, and a nanny to do all of the dirty work. We don’t get to sit back and applaud our child’s beautiful finger paint masterpiece while our nanny is elbow deep in purple and red glop. Young, single mothers? They would be lucky to be covered in paint than, possibly, working two jobs to support a child. Next, we have our vice presidential candidate’s teenage daughter who is doing the “right” thing and having her baby. It makes me wonder, in the midst of all of this, is it the media’s doing that having a child has become not only the “morally” right thing to do but, also, the “socially” right thing to do? Are children simply being photographed and focused upon as the result of the love between two people or as the latest in trends – a decorated keepsake tossed into the air while mom flashes a bright, straight and very white smile while frolicking at a Los Angeles park on a sunny day? Glorifying having children, mostly among unwed mothers in the media spotlight, is serving to increase the exposure to premarital sex and its consequences, making those consequences seem a trivial, if not a welcome and joyous result, of something which should be reserved for a later time and situation. The birth of a child is a joyous occasion. As the mother of four beautiful children I understand the allure of bringing little selves into the world. I just wish the tabloids would stop making it look easy, enticing young girls to go out and “get” a baby, as if it were the latest in trendy handbags to carry around.

Vanessa Hudgens’ scandal: How nude photos impact the views of fans
In the grand scheme of life, does it really matter? She is a beautiful, young girl who made a wrong decision. She should not be scarred for life for making a bad decision, I do not think not.
Plenty of ladies and gentlemen posed nude when they were young. For whatever their reasons it happened and they cannot take it back. Yet, again does it really matter. What matters is what they made of themselves later on in life. The sad part is what the media does when it finds out about it. They cannot leave it alone.
Think of all the gorgeous young ladies and men who posed for Playboy and Playgirl. Why is that different than when the young ladies and men do it today. It is a scandal because they posed for whatever reason and it fell into the wrong hands. Forever to be shown on the internet and every person wanting to make money off of their choices.

Celebrity encounters: How to keep composure when and if you spot your favorite star
“Celebrity encounters: How to keep composure when and if you spot your favorite star”
Here are some tips about how interact with your favorite star, should you suddenly meet them.
Okay, we know that you will be star struck, just don’t act like it! If you act nervous, it will most likely make your star nervous as well. Remember, they are people just like us. Okay, so they make more money than you or I do and their social calendar is a bit fuller than ours, but once all the flash bulbs have stopped popping and they roll out of bed in the morning, they put their pants on one leg at a time, just like everyone else does.
