What is Music Education?

Music education involves the teaching and learning of all things related to music. It covers a lot of topics which can help people who show interest in the field to have a fuller grasp of the subject–from music history, music theory, learning to play musical instruments, organology, musicology, musicianship, performance, and many others.

This specialized education starts during the formative years of children, wherein they are taught to sing kids’ songs and play toy instruments. From there, it continues to a time in which these children are made to join choirs, glee clubs, and school bands (concert band, marching band, or jazz band) where their basic comprehension of music is further developed.

In a more formal set-up, the study of music can be presented via music classes held inside the classroom. In fact, there are existing colleges and universities that solely offer music-related courses. They offer several degree options for those serious enough to take their music education up a notch. Those who venture in this endeavor can become professional musicians, music teachers, and studio technicians, among others.

The History of Woodstock

Woodstock was an iconic music festival which occurred over three days August15-17, 1969;    the event is considered the festival of the decade and one that helped shape American music history and culture.  Today it is a part of the history of Rock and Roll.

The event was conceptualized, planned and financed by 4 individuals.  These four had experience in the music promoting business and had financial capital.   Woodstock Ventures was formed to promote and finance the festival.  The posters billed the event as “An Aquarian Exposition”

The promoters then booked music stars CCR (Clearance  Clearwater Revival) for ,000 and that spurred other musical acts to join in on the music festival.

Originally the concert was to have been located in a 300 acre industrial park but was denied the proper zoning permits by the Waskill, NY zoning board. So the event took place on Max Yasgur’s dairy farm in Bethel, NY.  The location is about 40 miles from the town of Woodstock, NY.    The location was perfect for what the organizers wanted.  They insisted the event would draw no more than 50,000 people.

Jazz Music – History and Facts Revealed

The 20th century music world has seen the entry of light and easy listening music with African-American jazz music. Originating in southern USA, jazz music is a combination of African and European music traditions. It puts together the use of blue notes, improvisation, syncopation and swing notes.

Jazz music was first used in reference to music from Chicago early in the 20th century. It has evolved in several other subgenres such as New Orleans Dixieland, big band-style swing, bebop, Afro-Cuban jazz, Brazilian jazz, jazz-rock fusion, and the more recent acid jazz.

The realm of jazz music was and still is predominantly associated with the American black community. These black musicians transitioning from banjos and tambourines learned to play European instruments such as the violin. Black slaves from early America used to sing and play music as a form of spiritual or ritualistic hymns.

Buying Stadium Tickets Online

There is no other thing which can beat the excitement of experiencing the live concert of your favorite artist, singer, or sport team. The problem is, sometimes we don’t have the time to get in the line buying the tickets to the show of our dream at the official ticket boxes. What can we do then? Fortunately, you can buy the Chicago Blackhawks Tickets without actually go to the ticket box. With the internet invading our life from time to time, of course we can also buy the tickets online.

Every event usually have an official website promoting it. Or, it is the case of a music concert, the artist’s official website must have something to say about it. Big chances are, you can also buy the tickets there. However, this is not the exact case for every concert. The good thing is, if you cannot buy the tickets from the artist’s website, you can buy the NOTRE DAME STADIUM TICKETS, for example, from online tickets websites.
