A New Age for Country Music
What’s your favorite type of music? Most people may prefer rock and roll, pop, jazz punk, etc. These genres are most publicised by television and the radio. Country Music now would seem to mistakenly belong to the category of rock or pop. Publicity of this category started to drop only after the year 2000; however, it did have its peak years just before the decline.
Also, what people may not know is that this type of music inspired rock and roll especially with one of the most iconic figures in music history – Elvis Presley – who is known as the “King of Rock and Roll”. Elvis was a regular at the radio program Louisiana Hayride – which broadcasted Country Music back in the late 1940′s.

Great Jazz Pianists and Their Contributions to Music
Some of the greatest piano players in history became known for their proficiency in jazz. Technicality and a heavy reliance upon the ability of the musician to improvise makes jazz piano one of the hardest styles to learn. That does NOT mean, however, that it can’t be learned, but to get to the highest rungs a pianist must have lots of talent, a great ear, and the ability to improvise.
The birth of jazz music in the early 1900s was a significant period in musical history. Many of those who are considered among the greatest jazz pianists of all times were pioneers of the genre during this period. Jazz evolved from musical styles that African slaves brought to America. Therefore, its inception can largely be attributed to the early African-American community. African-American pianists, such as Scott Joplin and Ernest Hogan, are considered to be among the fathers of ragtime music. Although the ragtime era only lasted a few years, it was a precursor to, and contemporary of, the jazz era.
70s Soul Music The Sound of Experience
Many people sometimes wonder why so many (but not all) of the world’s most significant musicians and singers have gotten their start in the United States. It’s not just that the U.S. culture can be said to glorify entertainment and celebrity over everything else, and it’s not just because everyone wants to be an American. Many music history experts find that so much music comes from the U.S. simply because it is a diverse country, and because its people represent a plethora of significant life experiences that can’t be matched by any other nation’s population. The entire genre of 70′s soul music can be credited as an expression of the experiences of black Americans.

Creole and Jazz, Music of Emotion
When spending time in Louisiana, you can look forward to hearing some excellent and authentic Cajun, Creole, and Jazz music. Whether you are looking to have some fun dancing to a snappy Cajun beat or relax and absorb moody Jazz, you can find your place in the southeast. There is no question that Louisiana has a rich music history worth exploring.
As far back as 1755, settlers from Nova Scotia came to live in Louisiana, and they continued their tradition of telling tales of life in the New World at gatherings through song. Cajun music was born. Often these musicians sang a cappella, with clapping and stomping providing rhythm. When possible, the fiddle became the instrument of choice and families and friends would dance for hours. Through the 19th century, their music was influenced by blues, African and Native American styles, and improvisational singing techniques. For many years, and still today, the fiddle was central to Cajun melodies, but in the early 1900’s the accordion was introduced and impacted musicians. It became popular as its volume could carry across even a packed dance floor. However, it had a much more limited range of keys so some tunes were changed or could only be played with the fiddle. Today, both instruments continue to be an important part of the genre.

A Look Into Gospel Music Origin, Roots, History
When you think of gospel music, chances are churches and large church choirs doing rousing performances were the first things that came to your mind. But would you believe that there was a time when such performances would hardly be associated with the church? Not too many people know that Gospel music origin, roots, history didn’t just usher the creation of a new music genre, it also gave birth to the present-day African-American culture.
Gospel music origin, roots, history goes back to Africa but most of the sound was developed on American soil, particularly in the southern area, during the 18th century at the height of the slavery era. Tribal African music dealt exclusively with the sacred and was used by tribesmen as a means to be in harmony with nature. When the American slavers brought Africans to American soil, a ban prohibiting their native music and the use of traditional African instruments was imposed on them. This was done in order to further subjugate them and prevent them from communicating with one another. The enslaved Africans then turned to creating a new kind of music by using Christian subjects instead and fused their traditional African music styles with the Western style of harmony and musical instruments, thus began the gospel music origin, roots, history of modern day gospel music.

As this is so, pop music has taken so many forms through each decade to reflect the musical preference of a particular generation.

Aging rock band reunions: Weren’t they bad enough the first time around?
To those who were born during the Great Depression, the onset of rock and roll music must have been as horrible to them as rap and hip-hop is today for Baby Boomers. If an individual from this aforementioned era was raised on the sounds of artists such as Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, and Perry Como, then it stands to reason that rock and roll could be regarded as horrible. When disco became the rage at Studio 54 in the mid-1970′s and synthesized New Wave bands arrived a few years later, those who embraced the hard rock of the late 1960′s and early 1970′s likewise hated it.
