Bond With Music

Vienna is the music capital of the world. No other city evokes such immediate associations with the great classical composers and the king of waltz. The House of Music was opened in the First District, in 2000 as a museum of the 21st century. The building is a former Habsburg palace where Otto Nicolai, founder of the Vienna Philharmonic, once lived. The creative concept of the museum combines futuristic new media applications with a strong didactic element. Here visitors can learn how a musical instrument works and can try composition, conducting and playing. A big attraction is the virtual orchestra where anyone can take a baton and conduct the Vienna Phil on a large screen with the score of the Blue Danube or Radetzky March. If successful the orchestra will reward the newcomer with applause but if the tempo is wrong the players down instruments with cries of disapproval.

GPS show locations where Beach Boys make history

Technology has done wonders for travel over the past few years, and you need to look no further than the Internet to see how you probably have changed the way you once made hotel bookings or decided where to go on that special getaway weekend. An array of travel options awaits you online, and you now can book your whole trip with the simple click of a mouse.

For techno-geeks, the next frontier is GPS travel and already you read and hear about GPS users who meet up on the Internet and then make a game out of finding specific locations using latitude and longitude. Now we bring you GPS touring.

The idea is to create your own tour by using a GPS unit to find particular points of interest and specific addresses. Instead of shelling out for a narrated bus tour of famous locations, now you can buy a GPS for 0 and be your own tour guide. Of course your GPS unit can be re-used, so that financial equation looks a little better after you’ve self-toured a few times.

The Encyclopedia of Music. A Review

The Encyclopedia of Music: Instruments of the Orchestra and Great Composers / Wendy Thompson and Max Wade-Matthews (Hermes House, 2002) Paperback, 512 p. ISBN 9781843094364

The Encyclopedia of Music covers Western “classical” music from ancient civilizations to the present day in a single volume. It gives an overview of music history with the common division into periods, gives biographical information about important composers in each period, and describes hundreds of musical instruments. Averaging more than two illustrations per page, it gives the eyes a real treat.

The most authoritative encyclopedia, The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, now comprises 29 volumes in its print version. Obviously The Encyclopedia of Music does not have the same value for serious research. As with all one-volume encyclopedias, really knowledgeable people may quibble about why some entries are so much shorter than others or why others are not included at all.

Why People Prefer Online Casinos

For the obvious reason, people love it because they don’t have to travel miles away to other part of the continent and spend much fortune for accommodation. They can play casino games right from their house, apartment, or office during lunch break. Another advantage is that online casinos allow visitors to play casino games for free. This is something you cannot find everywhere in real casinos.

Choosing the Best Directtv Deals

Subscribing to a regular directtv deal is nothing new since many people have done that for a long time. However, now there are new directtv deals offered by the directtv companies. The greatest deal which has attracted many subscriber already is the deal to combine the directtv bill with the internet bill. Seriously, we all have enough with so many bills that come to our house every month. So when there is a chance to simplify it a bit, then why pass it?

The problem with combining your internet connection with your satellite TV is that you will have to sacrifice the internet connection quality. Of course you can choose to have a satellite internet connection to open a website on the internet. Yet the speed of the satellite internet is slower than the cable internet. On the other hand, satelite TV is superior in the program and service. Fortunately, the new technology has made it possible to have a wireless internet service with the same speed with the cable internet. The service is called 4G. Since this is a new thing, not all directtv companies have it.

Celebrities and the law: Why it seems like Hollywood law-breakers are above the law

Celebrities are always one of the hottest things in the news every day, from our regular news broadcasts as well as entertainment shows such as ‘Entertainment Tonight’, ‘Extra’, and ‘The Insider’, all of which talk about our favorite people that we like to watch on the big screen and what has been happening in their lives.
The next question is: what do we normally see on these broadcasts? Answer: The brighter side of their lives, with them dressed in their gowns or tuxedos, attending such events such as the Oscars, The Grammys, the People’s Choice Awards and so on. We only see what is on the surface, and that is what is pleasing to the eyes. We would hate to think that our favorite celebrities would ever do anything wrong, which allows this constant illusion to exist. But, if they were to do anything wrong, does the criminal system actually punish them in the same way as they would the normal average person? From what I have observed, I would have to say not.
