A Brief History Of The Modern Piano In Society
The modern piano developed its form from two keyboard instruments, the clavichord and the harpsichord, which originated from early in music history. These keyboard instruments operate on the principle of direct connection between the applied force or pressure of the player on the keys, and the volume of sound. Meaning, the harder the pressure or force the player applies on the keys, the louder the sound of the instrument, the lighter the touch, the softer the sound.
Earlier musicians, however, encountered a problem with the clavichord and harpsichord: the sound was relatively diminutive as compared to how they would have wanted it to be, considering the fact that keyboard instruments were often played in large rooms (chambers), cathedrals and churches.
Around the year 1700, Italian instrument maker Bartolomeo Cristofori (1655-1731) created the new keyboard instrument and coined its name from the fact that it could both play “piano” (soft) and “forte” (loud), addressing the problem of the old keyboard instruments. Thus, the pianoforte, or what we call shortly now as the piano.
The Musical History Of Naim Audio
The British manufacturer produces high produces a number of audio products for domestic use; products of high musical fidelity. It was in 1969, that the late Julian Vereker started the Naim Audio Visual and thus began the odyssey of Naim. The humble beginnings were sound in a light box which was then hired out to companies in film production. The products have since shared shelf life with competition in the names of cyrus audio, Musical Fidelity, Quad Audio and other top notch audio maestros. The increasing demand for Naim Audio products has been attributed to the great after sales service.
Julian Vereker designed his own power amplifier when he was disappointed with the then available sound of professional equipment used for recording. It was in 1973 that the company Naim Audio was incorporated. Through a combination of after sales philosophy, up-gradations, quality structural architecture and performance of the products Naim Audio today enjoys a devoted fan following.
Merry French Horn Opinions
I keep in mind how I felt about this when I was expecting my initial child. I desired to raise a musical child if I could. Even even though I had earned a university degree in music, I wanted answers to the same question. Can you teach your unborn baby music?
The vibration of the lips as the player blows into the instrument is what really makes the sound. The valves on these instruments are opened and closed by using the keys pressed from the player’s fingers and these valves are what permit the musician to alter the sound that is being made. The length of the tube is what also has an affect on the pitch.
While most brass devices are in reality made out of brass, you will find a few exceptions towards rule as some believe that an instrument needs to be classed as a brass instrument by the sound they make.

The Strange Life Of Poker Legend Stu Ungar
Stu Ungar didn’t have much going for him in most areas of life. In fact, it could very well be argued that he was downright inept in most areas of existence. He also had a self destructive streak that manifest itself in heavy drug use and other behaviors. Ungar, however, had one great gift–he was a prodigy with a deck of cards. He would become one of the first superstars of poker before it became a fixture on ESPN, but wouldn’t live to enjoy the ‘boom’. Ungar would eventually be done in by his baser elements, and would be found dead in a Las Vegas hotel room in November,’88.

Instruments of the Orchestra: The flute
Before the early 20th century, wooden flutes were more common. Theobald Boehm introduced silver flutes as early as 1847 but they were not generally accepted till much later. Between 1832 and 1847, Boehm also worked on the fingering system and key mechanism resulting in a radically improved dynamic range and much better intonation. It also allows extraordinary agility and brilliance throughout the range. The most radical change to the Boehm system occurred with the substitution by Briccialdi of a thumb key mechanism. The Boehm system of fingering is also used in saxophones and players in jazz groups or small ensembles will often alternate between the two instruments.
Concert flutes consist of a headjoint, body and foot joint. Gross adjustments of pitch can be made by moving the headjoint in or out. Moving the flute in relation to the player or altering the embouchure allows fine adjustments of pitch and/or tone colour. The headjoint can be swapped with another according to the individual’s preference and may result in a completely different sound.
Music instruments : New and Exotic Musical Instruments
I love playing the piano and guitar, but being one who bucks convention, I also gravitated toward musical instruments not normally played today. My collection includes a teardrop Mountain Dulcimer and a Bowed Psaltery.
The Mountain Dulcimer bears no resemblance to the hammered dulcimer, whose strings are struck with hammers rather than being strummed. The Mountain Dulcimer is so named because it was first built by the people living in the mountains of Appalachia. It began as a crude sort of guitar, and became a beautiful instrument on its own. Jeanne Ritchie is the most famous Mountain Dulcimer player, and Cyndi Lauper played one in one of her videos.
Traditionally, the Mountain Dulcimer is played using a goose feather as a plectrum, but I also use a regular ultra thin guitar pick because the feather quills shred so easily. This instrument has more of a kinship with the zither and is played in much the same way. There are four strings, the two highest of which are tuned to the same note. The three standard tunings are D-A-A, D-A-D, and D-A-C. I use the first tuning most often.
Music Production: Tips for Recording Better Electric Bass Tracks
Introduction
The electric bass is often an overlooked part of recordings. Although most probably don’t do it intentionally, the bass becomes unimportant because less experienced engineers tend to focus strongly on “more important” tracks such as the snare drum or the all-important lead vocal. The reality is that the bass sound is essential to making a really great sounding recording. Here are some tips to help improve your bass sound.
The Most Important Thing
An all too often overlooked aspect of getting good bass sounds is the bass and the bass player. Make sure you have the right bass for the job. Also, you’d be surprised how different two tracks are where everything was identical except the player. A great, experienced bass player can make a world of difference.
